About the Artist

Valeria Jean Marcus has been creating, exhibiting and selling art since she was a teenager.  Originally from Atlantic City, New Jersey she now resides in Matthews, North Carolina just east of Charlotte.  She studied at the Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia where she received her training in painting but majored in photography.  After graduation she continued her career as a painter and also opened her own photography business, Valeria Jean Photography.  She also worked as an Atlantic City social worker for 13 years.

Valeria moved to Matthews, NC after marrying her childhood sweetheart in 2006.  Along with her painting, Valeria started her greeting card business that she had considered for years, however painting has always been her true passion.
